Hosting one of the best supported campdrafts in the circuit, the Golden Gate Campdraft is a fabulous spectators’ event with non-stop action. Experience first hand the amazing horsemanship and stock handling ability of these skilled riders and stock’wam’ (women and men). Steering a lone beast through an obstacle course with their only artillery being their trusty steed. This agricultural show highlights the best local products from Walcha and the surrounding districts.
Enjoy the sheep shearing and fleece displays; horticulture and local farm produce; the cattle and horse events including dressage, hacking, sporting and jumping; the rodeo events, wood-chopping, poultry and dogs and pets. See the art and photography; woodwork and handicraft; cooking, preserves, jams and jelly; vegetables, needlework, knitting and crochet. There are exhibits from the local schools, the Hostel, Nursing Home, and Day Care.
