The Walcha region is renowned for its distinct and beautiful seasons. As the landscapes of our region becomes awash with sensational autumn colours, we would like to celebrate, promote and showcase this. We are excited to announce the Autumn Colours of Walcha photographic competition will be running again in 2025.
Autumn Colours of Walcha photo competition will offer two categories.
Category 1 will focus on a traditional approach and could include (but is not limited to) landscapes, streetscapes, garden images or autumn flora.
Category 2 is all about creativity and could include (but is not limited to) digital manipulation, multiple exposures or humorous photos.
With $500 worth of prizes up for grabs we hope this encourages all those serious and budding photographers to get out and about.
First place in each category with receive a $200 Gift Card and a selection of local products. Highly commended will also be acknowledged.

Entries close 24 May 2025. Photos must be submitted in high resolution JPEG or PNG format (minimum 2MB, maximum 10MB). Please include your full name and contact information, brief description of the photo and social media tags (optional).
Judging will be undertaken by Walcha Tourism and the winner from each category will be announced on 5 June 2025.
Photographs must be taken in the Walcha LGA and should prominently show the colours and beauty of autumn in Walcha.

Join in Live & Local 2025, streamed live by Sydney Writers’ Festival and delivered locally to the Walcha Council Library.

9.00am - Local sites open to public, including the Hall, School, Church, Sportsground and Cemetery.
11.00am - Grand re-opening of the Woolbrook AIF School of Arts Hall with a reenactment of the 1920 official opening.
A sausage sizzle will be available throughout the day, along with a coffee van.
Share a meal and memories with locals in the evening.
Two-course meal - $30 adults/$10 under 12/Free under 5.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Werrikimbe National Park from the grounds of Mooraback Cabin on 18-19 October 2025.
