Saturday – Memorial Race Day
Saturday is all about family fun, with face painting, a jumping castle, ice creams, Kids Fashions on the Field, and the famous Foot Race around the Racecourse — a crowd favourite not to be missed.

Lucky Gate Prize | Every $10 ticket goes into the draw | Prize money of $500 / $250 / $100.
Tickets can only be purchased at the gate on the Saturday and the Lucky Gate Prize can only be claimed on the course.

Get ready for a big weekend as this much-loved event returns bigger and better than ever.
Friday 13 February kicks off activities with the popular Tractor Trek, bringing tractors and colour to the streets of Walcha on a scenic route of approximately 65km.
Saturday 14 February is Family Day, starting with a town tour through Walcha’s main streets, followed by a full day of activities at the Walcha Showgrounds. Enjoy entertainment for all ages, including a jumping castle, barrel train, tractor pull, machinery demonstrations, sawmill, swap meet and much more.
Sunday 15 February continues the action with tractor pulls, swap meet and further machinery demonstrations.
A great weekend for families, visitors and tractor enthusiasts alike.

Learn the technique of traditional Hardanger embroidery from Norway, with this beautiful Hardanger band at a weekend workshop in Walcha, with the Whitework Queen herself, Yvette Stanton.
In this class you will learn the basics of Hardanger embroidery, including stitches such as satin stitch, eyelets, cable stitch, four-sided stitch, cutting threads, woven bars and dove's eye filling stitch. The project is worked in pearl cotton thread on 28 count linen. This is a beginner's class, so if you've never done it before, this class is for you, and even if you have done Hardanger before, you're welcome to join in!

Frisian whitework comes from Friesland in the Netherlands. Frisian whitework samplers often featured alphabet letters in varying sizes and styles, large and small spot motifs, and designs for bands.
Learn the technique of Frisian whitework, making the Dutch Heart Sampler at a weekend workshop in Walcha, with internationally renowned whitework expert, Yvette Stanton.
In this class you will learn the basics of Frisian whitework, including stitches such as satin stitch (regular and diagonal), eyelets (single and clustered), whipped backstitch, topwinder stitch and chain stitch. The project is worked in pearl cotton thread on 28 count linen. All levels of proficiency are welcome, but experience with counted thread work is an advantage.
